Dr Carl Rogers (1902 – 1987) developed an approach to psychotherapy and counselling based on trust in human beings and that each person has the wisdom and resources to develop their potential.

The essence of the Person-Centre Approach lies within the importance of the relationship between the client and the counsellor. Where there is a consistent deep respect and acceptance for the person, a relationship based on trust honesty and warmth can enable the client to explore issues and feelings openly.

"The curious paradox is that when I can accept myself as I am, then I can change"

    Carl Rogers
